Thanks for sharing, Geoffrey. That LUJ18 coat is something else. Really beautiful.![]()

Hah I was going to say the same aswell. Looks like a winner! :)
Suede is too Gucci.
Dear Faust, Lowrey and the breaks,
Thanks very much for your kind words on the LUJ18. Do you think it would work in a men's version?
Best wishes, Geoffrey
Absolutely! I think the fabric can work for both men and women and the cut is pretty classic. I thought it was a man's piece at first :-)

Yeah that is pretty much the perfect jacket style for me. Always a total sucker for it. I would love to get my hands on a mens version of that one, in particular..!
OK, very interesting. Normally, for a men's version in this type of model, we would have a different silhouette and fit base. Shoulders and sleeves would be wider and there would significantly less waste suppression (hourglass shaping) in the body. What are your thoughts?
thanks to all, Geoffrey
Of course it would have to be recut for a man's body, but I think the overall silhouette and color is wonderful. I wouldn't make shoulders and sleeves too wide (my only gripe with Ann's coats, which otherwise I adore).

Thanks Faust, perhaps I could map it onto one of our early 19th century pattern bases. That would give it a very body moulding fit in shoulders and sleeves. Perhaps not commercial enough for some of our retailers (who have a lot of larger customers and seem to prefer the Ann fit type of thing), but we could offer it in our special order and private service programs. Or if I can somehow find the space and time, maybe try to create a test piece for the new collection in Paris coming up for the 28th June (more later). The fabric is truly fantastic, however for the new collection I might want to have it work into a slightly different color scheme/story. For example, could we hand dye it to a darker shade? All thoughts and comments welcome...interesting procedure this: participative SZ design approach.... thanks to all, Geoffrey

cool. I'll get an invite out to you as soon as I can.
Geoffrey I am really sorry. Wanted to make the trip, then figured the timing was just bad, as i really need to finish the spring collection and Plan a good presentation for September here in new york.
I definitely will be in Europe at some point this year, just not sure exactly when as yet.
I did speak to Faust about it though, and yes, he is my designated representative, as we both agree that the time isn't right for me to be in Paris.
We will talk, and all the best with the preparations
love and Blessings,
ZB
