Been giving Return II Space at least 1 airing per day for the past couple weeks. Mala is sheer tops for me, can't be touched.
I think they're easily the number one punk item.

new burial. one of my favorite tracks in months. in other news, skream's new album is really, really bad. luckily he still puts out stellar mixtapes for free.

I think that this last Burial track is not even close to his previous released and unreleased ones.
Doesn't mean its bad tho, just not on his usual level...

Burial made that track together with El-B, who is one of his biggest inspirations and was arguably one of the founding fathers of dubstep almost 10 years ago. Thats why it's a different sound, particularly the drums sound just like something El-B would have made . It's not as 'rainy day' as his usual stuff but I love how syncopated the strings and the screeching synths are.

For example compare the drums in the Burial track to these

Actually its not only the drums, but also the synths that don't sound as deep and ambiant as most other burial tracks.
They are not as soft and mellow, sound a lot more aggressive, like the usual dubstep songs.

How do people think Prefuse 73 relates to dubstep?

I don't know much dubstep, outside of some Rusko, Joker, and Borgore A lot of the songs posted on this thread remind me of One Word Extinguisher, which I listened to a lot back in 03.

I would group Prefuse 73 with Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, etc. There still isn't really a consensus as to what that genre is called, but beat music (terrible name, better than wonky at least) seems to be catching on.

in other dubstep news im going to smack the next person to say 'this track is filthier than ______'. i can handle it on youtube comments but it aggravates me so much when somebody says it in real life.
