Taichi Murakami: Nature Morte

EDITORIAL: NATURE MORTE

The Japanese artisanal designer Taichi Murakami started out at m.a.+ by Maurizio Amadei in the early aughts. He launched his eponymous label in 2011 and since then has become a quiet mainstay in the fashion avant-garde. His lived in leathers, a combination of techwear and traditional tailoring, and his industrial-looking silver jewelry and watches have all become signatures of his unique universe.

We visited Murakami’s Paris showroom earlier this year. Instead of a traditional photo shoot with a model, we opted for a still life representation, where objects take on a life of their own. You can revisit our 2017 profile of Murakami here.
