Please forgive me in case I ask a question to which the answer might be obvious to everyone here (except me ).

It seems that many of you are visiting the different fashion weeks (Paris, Berlin, ... wherever they take place). I've read somewhere else that visiting the fashion week shows is basically on invitation only, and that the fashion week is targeted towards those working in the industry.

So... how do you get in? (you = those not working in the industry)

Ok, fashion bloggers might receive invitations (geez... time to open up my blog about sewing techniques). Those spending a six digit sum at an Haute Couture house will also get invitations and probably a seat reservation with their name on it .

I can't believe that everyone who is posting here also works in the fashion industry. Are there shows that are open to everyone?

Saturday is always the prime time. You won't get into Yohji though.

Marc, to answer your question (which indeed comes up like clockwork every six months when the schedules are posted) - the shows are mostly for two groups of people - buyers and press. There are quite a number of friends, hangers on, celebs, demi-celebs, celeb wannabes, and people who dress wacky to get on blogs - some of them get into shows, others don't. It depends on a number of things - venue size, the mood/policy of the PR, etc. - it's really quite arbitrary.
