got caught in the rain in my yang li suit, and now the trousers are terribly speckled/faded from the rain. seems like the dye is very easy to fade. i sort of like it though, since its supposed to look sort of trashy, with the raw edges etc.

It seems like normcore, at it's most general level, is encouraging approval-seeking behavior and hiding it as empathy and connection. The connection you have with someone when you are just acting is not genuine. This behavior is harmful and stems from fear and insecurity. Why it would ever be a trend is beyond me.
