What a great collection, and very different from what he has done previously.

Interesting to look at all the different textures. He's getting much better at presenting his ideas and you can certainly feel the influence of Michele Lamy.

I could do without circus tent print and short shorts.

I wouldn't have guessed any of those as being from Pugh and that makes me sad

I don't get it. By the way - does anyone know anyone who wears GP?

^I saw someone on the street in the LES wearing a piece from him once. That's it.

This collection looks like some pieces I helped a friend make for a drag tour once.

Exactly. Hence the reason for the continuing radical shift in aesthetic, to the more "commercial" persuasion.

I get the feeling that GP doesn't know who he is designing for to begin with.

He has a lot of cool ideas but if you don't know who would wear it it's likely he doesn't know either. To be perfectly honest I can't imagine many women wanting to wear most of these garments. This collection feels like it was designed for the nightclub scene/queens. If that's his inspiration- great. But if he's trying for commercial success it still doesn't translate. Also seems odd compared to his past few collections.

Honestly I think GP wants to appeal to red carpet/celebrity stylists to avoid going out of business at this point.

It's really gone from stunning student work to somewhat disappointing student work with some stellar stuff in between. He's got the talent no doubt, and there are some totally wearable pieces in this collection, but they just don't feel like they could only come from him. I sense a real struggle to establish what his signature is while simultaneously needing to be commercially viable. Maybe that was never his thing.
Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.

My girlfriend lives in the catsuits (for which I'm much obliged), but otherwise not so much.

I would never have guessed this was Gareth without the thread title -- weird stuff. I do like the 'uncanny valley' makeup however.
