Thread: Sizing help

What size are the boots being advertised as, and what size is marked in them? Yohji shoes are sized many different ways. Those that come in European sizes are pretty true, but I'm not sure if any of them do any more. The ones sized only in standard Japanese sizes (23-28) or in Yohji's own sizes (1-5) are erratic and differ between the Y's and mainline stock. As a bit of a guide, I am a 44 and I can usually comfortably fit into Yohji's biggest size (5 or 28) length-wise. But his shoes can be very narrow. There is a beautiful pair of washed leather boots with a zip up the back in the current Y's collection. The London Yohji boutique hasn't been able to sell a single pair in any size, because noone fits into them width-ways.

The trouble is, the shoes are made by different manufacturers in different countries. For example, my ponyskin creepers were made by Church's, are marked as a 44, and fit exactly as you would expect.

    I haven't helped much, have I!

Can one of you guys with a girlfriend/wife tell me how Ann Dem pants run? Are they cut very slim in the legs?

Except the famous wool/leather leggins I haven't seen a skinny pant from Ann (and thank our lord Jesus for that).

I don't know, from what I've tried on / seen they can run slim, but yeah, I don't know that I would go so far as to call them skinny.

I need to remember to check who's asking sizing questions.

Maybe next time I'll manage to keep my cross-dressing tendencies to myself for at least a month.

Since there?s been some recent interest in cloak jeans, here are the measurements for mine (taken while the jeans are lying flat):

Style: M400 Selvedge jean/Coal with stripes

    Size: 30/S

    Waist: 15 1/8?

    Rise: 10.25?(front)/11?(back)

    Thigh: 9.5?

    Knee: 7.75?

    Hem: 7?

    Inseam: 31?

I suggest more posters contribute measurements for popular items, maybe we should just start a measurements thread to avoid cluttering the size thread (which is more about sizing Q&A).

    Margiela shirts:

    I fit a size I(tight) or size II (slightly more relaxed)and I'm a 36so I'd say:

    I: 34-36

    II: 36-38

    III: 38-40

    etc

I am a 37/38 and the size II Margiela shirt I tried fit like a dream.

Of course, I didn't buy it and it was sold a few days later.

Drkshdw denim jackets usually fit true to size (shock!). Of course there is disclaimer, you really never know with Rick.

Depends on which fit you like, for lots of Margiela sellers and wearers, some of them quite knowledgeable, a II is 36.
