Re: Nicolas Andreas Taralis Spring/Summer 07 Paris
Thanks for posting, Kodak! I tried on a few F/W pieces yesterday, but didn't see any prices.
My understanding is that the price point is quite high? Comparable to Dior Homme?...I mean the ephemeral, the fugitive, the contingent, the half of art whose other half is the eternal and the immutable.

Re: Nicolas Andreas Taralis Spring/Summer 07 Paris
Welcome, Kodak, and thanks for posting.
I think this collection looks Ok. All of his collections look Ok to me, but hardly more than that. I seriously doubt the claims that <insert the-name-of-former-Hedi's-assistant-who-now-has-his-own-line here> was THE creative force at DH is true, based on what I've seen them do on their own. Also, I am starting to get a little bit tired of the whole post-punk-goth-apocalyptic-rebel glamour bandwagon. Honestly, I want TAILORING, dammit.
I love the outfit that the black model is wearing. Kodak, what do you think?

Honestly I feel this collection was alright, but nothing spectacular or anything I would want to see in person. Some of the pieces are nice but eh,when are we going something makes us scream in delight. I really want to see what he going to do for Cerrutti

this is pretty boring and uninspiring to me. the shiny jackets look rather gaudy.
faust, are you not a fan of KVA either?

No, not really. I feel that a lot of it is gimmicky - like the tie appliques on the jackets and shirts, etc. There are some pieces here and there, but I don't really see anything worth a second look. I think if I was into that type of aesthetic, I'd go with McQueen in a flash - there are many comparable pieces between the two (you can't really tell from McQueens shows, but he towns down a lot for the stores). I liked the sweaters with the twisted collars, though - they were neat!Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde
