Thread: Gift suggestions

  1. #1

    Default Gift suggestions

This thread is for those seeking suggestions on gifts for significant others. I have already benefited from Laika's suggestions and posts from her wishlist. So perhaps a thread focused on gifts where we can come to seek suggestions for particular occasions would be beneficial to us all.

I'm currently leaning towards this bag for my wife's birthday. Thanks Laika! [51]

I got my girlfriend this ann demeulemeester feather necklace, but it ended up being a completely different color and also pretty huge compared to what I thought. I dont know if it comes in more than one color but the one I received was almost black..

anyway, it was a really nice piece so thought I'd mention it, I just know she wouldn't have preferred the big size.

LOL!! Do it Cas!! I have several Ugo pieces and my wife hates them all. If I like a Ugo piece, she hates it. So those are out. But I like the way you think Laika. I've been trying to think of things to put in it and that scarf and that book look like great choices. It looks like a DVN day for her and she'll have no problems with that. [75] Again you have come through. Many thanks. I'll be sure to take all the credit for it! [74]

awwww, you guys are too kind. [:$]

DHC, we have a women's jewelry thread here, which might have some other suggestions. I am very fond of Natalia Brilli's leather covered pearls, at the moment.

lol, my boyfriend got me that umbrella as a joke. I got obsessed with this ninja game on ps3 last year (it gives me a headache to play it now b/c I am stuck- yes I'm a nerd). I don't use it, it just sits in our umbrella stand and people look at it strangely.

I haven't done ANY xmas shopping. I don't want to do it this year. Shouldn't my mere presence be gift enough?

Faust, why are all your gifts so masochistic?

For the music lover The Journal of Popular Noise.

"The Journal of Popular Noise is a semi-annual audio magazine inspired by the traditions of pop music, printed periodicals, and the delight of a finely crafted artifact. Limited edition of hand-folded, letter-press printed copies. To purchase click below."

Does anyone know more about this? I found it through a gift guide and it looks awesome. Looks like only one issue is available now and I can't find any info if it's possible to get a subscription.

the margiela book is another good one, also if they read a particular author quite a bit or love a specific book buying the first edition is a neat idea.

My favorite gifts to give and to receive. Too bad I hardly have people in my life who read.
