my judgment is going just by what i've seen from pictures and what not, haven't set foot into a boutique in a while. Wasn't crazy about it...$1,000 USD for a pair of leather leggings, some dresses that did not look particularly exciting. I guess it's just not up my alley in terms of look.

ah yeah admittedly i don't follow women's fashion much other than what i hear through casual conversations with acquaintances. The fall 08 show was very strong, i just took a look, and it struck me harder than the two which followed it (liked the f/w 09 least.) Something very sublime about the textures, colors, how the whole thing is presented on the show. Reminiscent of the most strangely brilliant moments from Japanese culture, whether fashion or general visual images, your reference was spot on. I think there's an imaginativeness with their work whereas Balmain is structurally solid and even sexy at times but lacks feeling.

Rodarte is basically hand-made couture, where as Balmain has very little craftsmanship in their pieces, seriously 2,300$ bleached denim???

yeah the "directional" styling gimmick that Balmain seems to be on a trip with is blah....i like the voluptuous dresses Decarnin does the best, the denim and throwback sequined jackets i could care less for.
