I am in government to help the people. I don't expect to earn millions and frankly don't want to, by lobbying for Goldman or Citibank once I'm out of here. But I know then my salary will forever be limited.
THAT is what is upsetting.... Being here, the public has no idea just how shut out of the debate they are vs. these lobbyists. No wonder our approval rating here is 13%! It's more corrupt than they even imagine..."
the general public has no idea how corrupt govt. really is. they are distracted and misled by phony issues and the propaganda machine into worrying about the wrong kind of corruption (socialism? obama a muslim? abortion and gay marriage who gives a fuck). meanwhile, how quickly middle class prosperity of the post WW2 era has been replaced with middle class debt. the gap between the haves and the have nots gets wider and wider. manufacturing in america is dead but our education system is too shitty to produce the minds needed for the tech industry.
