I mean it's not groundbreaking or anything, but it's nice. I've always preferred KVA's own line over what he's doing at Dior.

This isn't all that bad, honestly. I sort of like it. Uninspired, maybe, but definitely could be worse (at least for KVA )
Yeah, pretty much. I wouldn't notice many of these outfits on the street, nor do I want any piece. It's almost entirely inoffensive and completely forgettable. Look 11 is pure horror though. I would actually point and laugh.
Hobo: We all dress up. We all put on our armour before we walk out the door, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we’re trying to be someone else.
I think this will be one of those collections you have to see in person to make a concise judgement, half the looks are plain black unstructured jackets, the fabric and cut on inspection would be the deciding factor for me.
I've always felt that KVA just doesn't have his own voice or inspired vision. Overall, this line kind of says, 'why bother?' to me.
Maybe most lines do...maybe some are just covered up better than others. The bottom line for me personally is that there's nothing to really grab onto overall or to pull me in.
I mean, the fabrics seem wispy...not like fall fabrics at all, the plaid patterns seem generic to me...the textures seem weak, the plaid looks like pajamas. I feel like the best outfits are those where he channeled Yohi.
And from a consumer point of view, for the price you pay for KVA, there are a lot of more inspired options out there.

Exactly what I'm thinking.
When i was in Antwerp for the entrance exams, they asked me about my favourite Designers ...I said it's easier for me to tell them who i don't like. it didn't take long till Kris van Assche came to my mind.
I told them that I think that his designs has no soul, and you can't really see HIM behind it... no emotions.. nothing. Just... Plain...
He might have some new, perhaps even good, ideas, but it seems like he gets too "attached" to these ideas, and can't think creative anymore.
"Let's make woolpants with elastic waistbands". Done.
"Let's paint everything silver!". Done.
I really think he needs more time to find himself. The whole Dior Homme thing was an experience. In my opinion no good one. But i really hope, that one day, when he's old and grumpy, he'll put some emotions and meaning into his clothes.
I'm still kind of confused, that he made it through the academy.
