How is the sizing on them? I am usually a 8.5-9, which usually maps to 39. Though I bought a pair of very similar Ann boots in a 39, and they were significantly too large.

Pretty much all of the Ann footwear I own fits around 1/2 to 1 size larger. It's not the case for all of her shoes though, and I had to return a couple of pairs of sandals recently which ran true to size.

    (disclosure: I am a man)

I'm a size 13, so I got a 46. My boots came from F/W13 which I believe was the second to last season Ann designed for? It might've been the last, it escapes me at the moment. I find they fit perfectly. I'd say true-to-size, but I'm not sure if that's the case for Ann's female footwear.

Thanks! I have had a similar experience with Rick. My wedge boots are a 37.5 — hurt like hell for the first few wears but are now perfect — and my sandals are a 39.5, I think.

Yep, you're a dude who dresses like a weirdo in Texas, and I am a chick who dresses like a weirdo in Florida. ;) Good to know yours are from F/W13. I really love them and hope to find a pair.

I have a pair of Rick combat boots from 07 (I think), and I love them even though they are definitely on their last legs. I keep hoping to find another pair of those, too, but I think the more recent Ann are more likely.

Texas is pretty bad about heat, but Florida... that humidity... I couldn't imagine wearing black in that sun; especially south Florida. Their fashion sense I guess is another issue. Are you a Florida native?

To stay on topic: the silhouette's very nice on the boots - keep your eyes peeled. When my Ann boots wear out, I'll have to find some. Although, I'm thinking getting a back-up pair now (in leather; e.g. something that I can wear in the rain which is a persistent problem/blessing in your state) isn't such a bad idea...

I am not a Florida native. I just moved here in June, and I am still figuring out how to adapt my normal many-layered style to survive this climate (both weather and culture-wise).

Yes, the boots are lovely. I am (and have been) looking all over. I'll find them at some point. You won't regret buying the backup pair now if you find them...

Those look very uncomfortable to be honest.
Did you try them? I can't imagine they are easy to get on.

    Default Guidi 905 / 805

Has anyone tried on the button flap style Guidi boots? I love the button detail, but have yet to see them in person. I prefer the flat boot (805), but not sure if these are even made in women's sizes.

Does anyone here have the thigh high Rick sock boots of any kind? Or specifically these Adidas Tech ones?
I got a pair for Christmas and I can't get them to stay up!! When I walk they drop down, particularly the right one, to almost below my knee. I don't know if they could be altered/taken in at all by a shoe repairer or leather specialist? Or how else to keep them up? Should I stick a silicone strip on the inside like a stocking?
some do it fast, some do it better in smaller amounts.

Funny you should post this bc I just got them. I absolutely love the sharp geometric angles. I have very skinny legs and they stay up for the most part (and are even taller than other styles) but my other 2015 otk sock boots do slide down somewhat. I would have them tapered to fit or you won't be satisfied and never wear them and that would be a shame.

Thanks rider. I also e-mailed the Rick Owens customer care team for advice.
My legs are fairly slim - especially my calves - but also I have a long foot; and in my experience the bigger the shoe size the wider they make the shaft, so I'm always struggling with boots. I had to have my knee-high guidi's custom made with a slim shaft. But weirdly the calf on these are perfect, it's just the thigh that's so big. It feels like it fits when I pull them up but once I start walking around they drop in an instant. So frustrating!

love these so much. I hope you find a way to make them work.

I kind of understand your dilemma since Guidi tall boots are super slim and if you had to custom order those then, WOW!

Amazing read Ahimsa Now we know who is the craftsman behind IVH footwear. Those Austrians always push boundaries, definitely another artist that needs more recognition.
We hope that people will begin to see beyond the superficial surface of things and understand that there is far more to a design than just the way it looks on the outside.
