I have been incredibly busy lately putting this together, and in fact it's the sum total of two years' worth of delays, snags, hiccups, and perfectionism. I'm very proud of it. The first release on my new "record label" frozen reeds. Please have a look.

In 2000, Eberhard Blum, Nils Vigeland, and Jan Williams came together once more as “The Feldman Soloists” to perform Crippled Symmetry, the trio Feldman composed for them, on the 25th anniversary celebration of the festival he founded. The recording of this concert is now finally available on CD, and is destined to become the reference release of this work.

Required listening for all fans of Feldman’s rich, hypnotic world of enigmatic harmony and mnemonic echo. Mastered by Denis Blackham, and presented in a card package which unfolds to reveal the musicians’ “butterfly-like” arrangement on stage.

This is great! I just recently wrote a majorly long paper on this very piece, it's one of my all time favorites. So are you in the ensemble or it's just your record label?

Hi - interesting to hear about your relationship with the piece. I'm sure you'll enjoy this new recording. I've been obsessively collecting Feldman discs for over a decade and this is one of the most beautiful performances I'm aware of - hence my quixotic mission to bring it to the public. =)

It's just my label, yes - the musicians are all guys who actually worked with Feldman quite closely when he was alive. I was just lucky enough to hear of this great concert and the fact that it may have been recorded. Then a trawl through the archives, mastering from an industry legend, and two years being extremely picky about design and materials. And it's finally here!
