    Elena Dawson

The heavier Elena pieces dont look great on the mannequins, cant judge it till i see it on an actual person though. The lighter dresses look amazing.

    love this one...

Wondering if we should give elena her own thread instead of hijacking PH's thread.

Fenrost: Is that picture from EM as a preview to the upcoming season? EM does amazing promo shots...

has anyone seen larger sizes of Paul Harnden shoes around? Not sure I've seen bigger than an 11?

I'm really looking forward to seeing more images of the men's collection, I'm hoping for a less splattered version than last time, (pics below) The men's shoes in the first image look nice, you can view high res on the blog.

Yes, it is. Very nice, too, although there is a tad too much shredding for my personal tastes. But the jackets are very nice.

              No menswear at IF...

Faust, how would you compare her jackets to Harnden's? Seems to be a similar shape - any notable differences?

I think the shape is different, actually. Different button placement, different lapel shape, etc. They looked more formal than Harnden's offering.

Hot damn. I need that pigeon-poo white splatter stain jacket, or coat, like a hobo needs a shave and a bath. Help a brother out?

I think the quote is fine. Much better than the seasonal twaddly babble from Julius, and I dig Julius goods irregardless. The above Python youtube sketch wasn't a slight in any way, but an oblique reference to what I judge to be where/who the quote (and presumably the entire collection) takes its influence from. This gent right here,

Well, I guess you have to understand who her boyfriend is, hardly pseudo-intellectual.

i don't know, nor feel i need to understand who someone's boyfriend is in order to appreciate their work as a designer, or not.

but what the fuck do i know, right?

From what I was told, Elena was the one who came up with the idea and concept to start the clothing aspect of the collection as well as being responsible for designing both the mens and womens. Until this the collection was primarily shoes, bags and accessories.

                            But who knows...

Saw a few jackets at IF yesterday - they looked nice and different enough not to be confused with Paul Harnden. I did not try one one, but they looked well fitted - the arms are very slim and the armholes are high. The black washed fabric (linen/wool, I think, but not sure) looked beautiful - more like Baudelaire after his servant broke his jacket in by wearing them for a few weeks than Victorian peasant.
