interesting technique but your images are suffering for it - they are obviously overexposed and the ultra-shallow depth of field is resulting in points of interest (such as faces) that are out of focus. it's an unwieldy technique that can achieve things otherwise impossible but probably best left for when you're in the studio.

The overexposure does occur in some shots but in shots like this..
(15 images at 50mm f/1.4)

..It is fine.


But it's true that if the picture appears to have many subjects it does not do well due to the blur at unwanted areas. It is best when shooting one subject. I also realize that it gives this surreal miniature look to the pictures.

i love that 2nd shot - for some reason it takes me to midtown NYC in the 70's.

The second shot was actually taken first with a digital camera(Canon powershot A85) But I`m not a fan of digital and the photo had no life to it. I then took a screen shot of it with my polaroid. Might explain its funky look. Everything looks better in polaroid!
