peter saville will be doing an instore book signing at burberry in midtown thursday night, a interview and retrospective analysis at white columns friday night (this should be great, peter is a great speaker/storyteller who can retell the stories of joy division/new order as if they happened yesterday) and a book signing i assume at spoonbill in williamsburg on sat afternoon. sorry i don't have the exact times.

Basically, I keep reading more and more to indicate that a bill structured in the Paulson manner will actually provide stabilization in exchange for outsized payment. I don't disagree with the need for some form of money injection, but the more I read, the less convinced I am that any injection at all will provide confidence and stability.

Krugman, who knows a hell of a lot more than I do, disagrees with me. Probably undermines what I've said, but Roubini is no lightweight.

Also, I am seeing more and more writings about the money being there but being witheld in interbank lending because $700,000,000,000 is more income than any interbank lending would allow. I'm not sure I believe this, but I don't know that I disagree.

My opinion doesn't matter any more than any other american without his own personal lobbyist, but I'm really unconvinced right now. I was in total agreement with Real and you just two days ago, but my sureness is fading.
