finally finished our dining table, a lengthy process to say the least... took 10+ tests to mix the right stain colour, followed by an unsuccesful clear coat which made the whole thing almost black. I had to sand it back to scratch, re-stain, a different lacquer, and reweld the frame to match the changed width.

That's really nice lowrey, your welding is clean - I always start out with markings which leads to broken chains of weld, gives another character to the piece (sloppy
). Makes me eager to start on a long awaited desk.
Don't know if I showed the dinner table I made a year ago (+ -), it's in the same category, only much smaller and I never got around to find good wood so I went with oak. Damn near impossible to find good scrapwood.
