All your work seems really interesting, especially the ink and charcoal. But the charcoal seems to have this rawness and aggression to it that I feel really adds to your work. Is there a certain process you follow before each piece?

No, there's no set method or technique to my drawing and painting, and no idea of what the final image will be when I start. I'm self taught so it is all intuitive and immediate, just laying the material down onto the surface on a whim, one mark responding to another and in this way slowly excavate the image from inside the working process. There's often a landscape like space in my works that is emblematic not of any actual place or emotional state but rather the act of painting itself, trying to find a resolution in terms of the form, space, light etc.

Really interesting, I feel that "process" works for you. I love how you feel a "landscape like space" in your works, I definitely see that more in the oil pieces you shared (which really reminds me of one of my past professor's work, I'll send a message with a link to his work) perhaps because of the use of color? Do you exhibit your work? If so, where?
