Re: BEER (the wonderful world of)

Went and bought a few nice pints a short bit ago, then decided to drink less often. So in the fridge for a rainy day(s) or to bring to a bbq:

    Witte

    Hennepin

    Three Philosophers

    Maudite

    Trois Pistoles

    La Fin du Monde

              My current favorites:

Ale No. 16 (a sublimely rich danish amber ale, coming from a very small brewery on the island of Fyn)

              Erdinger dunkel (Dark)

              Hoegaarden of course.

              Chimay Red/Premiere

              And at last Carlsberg Elephant.

Apparently all she really did was give the tots candy and then take it away. The rest is hype. It's still mean but not quite warranting of vigilante action. Plus I'm sure the parents were handsomely remunerated.

yes, never understood why that aspect of it was particularly controversial. not exactly unusual seeing a toddler have a little cry is it, and can't be that difficult to procure!

anyway, had a bottle of chouffre (sp?) the other night....didn't really like it, but got me a bit woozy (as a big bottle mind)

Naah, Danish here, with a hint of Finish and Spanish blood in the veins. But there was two russian twins back in high school,
and, my stepfather did do extensive travels for the Danish communist party back in the 70's and 80's to mother Russia,
that's the only relation I can think of right now ...

I think, as also mentioned by others, the controversy was a bit hyped, but who knows.
Anyways I'll bet you, that the children's parents would have been present, and by the way
the girl in the photo here, is the photographers own daughter.

Re: BEER (the wonderful world of)

I was going to open one of my lovely Omengang Brewery Beers tonight to take away my stress and thought, I only want one glass. They are too large. So I went and bought a bottle of wine. I bought a Sancerre, thinking I could have one glass today, another tomorrow. I had the whole bottle...now I am going to sleep. [51] - had insomnia again last night- only had two hours and dreamt of Helmut Lang (dont ask) and then pasta...what a weird two hours.

So I don't know if this shit's been poster before, but I'm too lazy (drunk) to go through all the back posts and double check right now. I'm waaaaay late to this party, but glad I finally got here.

                            Flemish Sour Ale.

I love me this shit. It's kind of an aquired taste (read: tastes seriously funky if you go in expecting guiness) but once you get there . . . HOLY FUCK THIS IS GOOD.

The CCP grandmaster of the genre is Rodenbach, and their Grand Cru is maybe as good as it gets, albeit not the most friendly starter. To that end check out the Duchesse de Bourgogne or VICHTENAAR which is maybe the most metal sounding beer money can buy.
