Why is Safari 30mb in size and Chrome 300mb?

I suspect a big part of this comes from apple shipping an installer that works on a narrow range of hardware, and uses the OS for most everything*. Chrome is probably shipping an installer that works on a wider range of OSes and hardware, as well as including the V8 javascript engine with their installation package.

Not at all sure, just a guess.


* Any app can do this, it's not apple being dicks (though they excel at that).

1) Buy iPhone 5S with ATT contract. $200 + tax
2) Unlock the phone, $40
3) Cancel ATT contract, move to T-mobile and have them pay cancellation fees $350 (total cancelation fees is $0)
4) Step 3 necessitates buying unlocked iPhone 5S from T-moblile, so buy that for $650 + tax (prorated over two years with 0% interest)
5) Sell the unlocked ATT iPhone 5S on Ebay, say $450 after fees
6) Sell the old unlocked iPhone 4S on Ebay, say $200 after fees.

Total for new unlocked iPhone 5S is ~$250, and no ShiTT contract.

alternatively you could do the following. AT&T sells the same model as T-Mobile, Verizon supports exactly the same GSM/WCDMA/LTE bands (with CDMA support too) so a 5S from either carrier is fine.

haha that's true but I suggest keeping the iPhone from AT&T as it's the same model that T-Mobile sells and getting the cheapest POS available (and keeping it for the next time you exploit a large corporation's overly generous offer ).

So, I must be retarded, but I can't figure this out - if I am making a calendar for Paris in New York and don't want the times to shift once I am in Europe, do I turn Time Zone Support in the calendar app on or off?
