Started watching Sons of Anarchy this weekend. The story has yet to develop, but it sure is a lot of fun to Watch--eye candy with the bikes, and brain candy with all the gangster stuff going on... not bad, not bad at all. It's like a West Coast Sopranos for 70's Harley bikers...with that whole last-of-a-dying-breed ambiance. Recommended (but I'm only a couple of épisodes into it, so I may be wrong...)

Just watched The Vikings with Kirk Douglas. Super kitshy but extremely entertaining and fun. I heartily recommend it. Super hollywood

Curb Your Enthusiasm was mentioned a while ago so all LD fans should check out Clear History. It's like a long Curb ep... very entertaining.

              It's totally unrealistic...visually appealing though.

I think if the inaccuracies don't diminish the plot or narrative in any way then there's really no problem. Seeing the forest for the trees and such.

Probably shouldn't say much since I haven't seen it, but everyone I know, people who appreciate film, haven't had great things to say...regarding plot, dialogue, action...Everything. Guess I'll have to see it to know for sure!

Can we please stick to the film discussion in the appropriate thread. This one is become redundant. We have a film thread and a TV thread. Actually, I still don't know why we have this one.

                            is this the tv thread?

anyway,FX usually does a nice job with it's original series;i dig justified & SOA. I've never watched The Shield and was thinking of DLing & binge watching. It seems to have gotten pretty good critical reviews but i'd like some first hand opinions.

                            is it worth my time?

I figured this wasn't particularly appropriate for the film or tv threads. a great lecture for anyone interested in Latour.

Is anyone else watching True Detective on HBO with Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mcconoughey? Excellent show - highly recommended.
