Whatever - SZ/Kira is my only source for Olympic updates. I refuse to go anywhere else.

And yes, I am aware that Canada hasn't won a single medal yet. [89]

    poor canada [:(]

but [89] i love being the only source for olympic updates!!! even though i am only reporting on the areas of my interest... others are more than welcome to contribute to it. i can only watch/pay attention to so many areas.

but isnt that how the news is anyways, completely skewed and from one vantage point. at least mine has emoticons.

for phelps. 8 for 8. I cant believe it happened. The only athlete in 112 yrs of the modern olympics to win 8 gold medals in one olympic game! I was jumping up and down screaming at the TV. It made me cry out of joy. [74]

Torres won two silver medals tonight less than an hour apart and she is 41. Tomescu wins the marathon at 38 yrs old. Amazing women. [<:o)]

Men's 100m dash, Bolt wins with world record time of 9.69. Blew the others away. Damn.

My Countryman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine what the record would have been if he didnt start celebrating twenty meters before the finish.

Somewhat disappointed though as Asafa Powell underachieved again.............he should have at least been a Bronze medalist....

Pnod, totally agree. NBC did blow it with the medal ceremony. it was quite shitty not to show the others, instead of zooming in on his face only so closely. it was the team that won it and not him alone.

Zamb, I thought the same thing. It would have been even better had he not slowed down to celebrate. Crazy.

Kira: Of course he could, but seeing as how Marion Jones got away with so much makes me take this a bit lightly. Nowadays I have the attitude that they just haven't been caught yet. On the other hand, controls are harder, you can't even drink coffee before the competitions. I want to believe he's clean. That would be so cool.
