Going to Reynard's tonight. Yum.
DJI, St. Anselm if you love meat. It's packed on weekends though.
So it everything else, including the sidewalks! The trick to having a good night out in NYC is going for whatever you're going for Mon-Thur. Or maybe just Mondays.
Truth. I've stopped going to Wburg on weekends just like I stopped going to SoHo on weekends a few years ago. All you hear on Bedford on a Saturday is Italian, French, and German.

well technically I am a tourist in NYC (and a recent import to the States too ). really anywhere in Brooklyn is good as long as it isn't too difficult to find parking.

Good lord, you didn't bring that mini cooper you posted in Recent Purchases over to the NYC, did you? Are you nuts!?? You will be the only person you know in NYC with a car. As long as you park outside of any of the 5 boroughs, you'll be fine.
And Faust - ditto on the cattle herd that is SoHo. I remember once jumping into a cab going from W Village to East, and turning off Houston and going up Prince Street. The short, one-sided conversation I had with the driver went something like this: "ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE?". We inched along for 10 minutes in 2 blocks, and then crashed into the cab in front of us.
Needless to say, I got out and walked the rest of the way. I don't remember the event, but I sure remember the ride.

I guess you don't know Faust!
I wish I had a car in the city. If I ever move to an outer borough then I'm definitely getting one.

You'd do well with a car in the city, Mike, considering the hours you keep.
2am-4am is the only time you're not sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Mondays, around 4am, being the very best for empty streets.

haha well I find parking to be horrendous enough in DC on a Saturday, let alone NYC/Brooklyn. that and I have little faith in the driving abilities of people on the east coast after been on the receiving end of two rear-enders within the same week..
And speaking of cars and cabs and Brooklyn, after the umpteenth time a cabbie tells you he won't take you over the bridge (from Manhattan) because of the time / the weather /
general assholeishness, most people end up hating the logistical downside to living there. Unless you never leave Brooklyn; then it's fabulous!
