I know it works because I bought it in working condition.........
if ever you need this in the near future you can contact me, as I WILL get it to work soon“You know,” he says, with a resilient smile, “it is a hard world for poets.”

maldoror, i don't think you can rent them. the print shops routinely finely tune them to their specifications. ink swaps, paper changes, and rentals to the general public is probably not worth it.
you can however post an ad on craigslist looking to borrow one with assistance. there are a lot of people in the city with large format epsons.
or perhaps you know of an art student with access to one.
and i don't know what you are printing, but i highly recommend laumont for the finest possible photographic prints of any kind, any size. price list is on their website.

just came across a photo on facebook of my old middle school campus, empty with just the architecture, taken from the view of the top "floor" looking down (hard to describe, but the campus is shaped a bit like an open air bowl)...man too many fucking memories looking at that shot, and not all good.
When I was younger I had a hard time understanding when people said they couldn't look at a certain image or read a certain sentence for too long or too often, that doing so can be 'too much.' Now I know, now I know...

@ zamb: thanks for the offer, and def let me know. much appreciated
@ endersgame: as a business model, renting printer time certainly does not make sense. however, there's e.g., a photographic arts not for profit in philly that offers this service, and I was hoping there might be a similar organization in nyc.
