    ^ I certainly agree, and I can respect him for that. As a courageous man, taking risks I wouldn't even have the means to take.

    But as a creator... Man, this is so self-parodic that it almost makes me loathe what I used to love in his work.
    Unless his purpose is to dig his own grave, or to assume the fact that he can't get rid of himself anymore - running in circles in his own backyard and being his own clown.

      Somehow this seems like a most fitting destination based on where he started with Eraserhead.

      More and more I find myself most interested in the 'late' or at least later period of an artist's working life, it is compelling to see how they either scrap for the last bits of closure and summation or just let go without fuss and absolutely plunge headfirst into the oblivion that awaits them.
