well, that's just rude! i don't get out to many live shows, so i didn't know that was a common problem.

i've heard people bemoaning the general use of tablets-as-cameras, that's the position i was arguing against.

Even as someone who sometimes uses an iPad to record shows, I can understand the annoyance. Personally the shows I record don't have tons of people at them, so I am able to stand off to the side and keep it at chest-height or so (so I can actually watch the show through my real-life eyes).

Seriously though, if people only have an iPhone or an iPad and they want to use it to take pictures or videos to remember things, then more power to them, as long as it doesn't distract/block/annoy those around them, which I think is usually the case in a concert setting. Would you have told someone with a Polaroid not to bother ever taking pictures since they didn't have some fancy camera?
