At least Lou Reed made it to the "old man" stage, unlike so many others before him from the rock scene of the 60s and 70s. He certainly was a legend that represents the authenticity and coolness of his era. RIP.

Funny enough, that vid was from back in like 1990! So 23 years later, you got me thinkin' that kids nowadays ARE clueless who 'ol Gumby is.

I think it's so great when people encourage their kids to get creative with costumes and everybody gets involved in putting something fun together, instead of picking up some ready-made poly crap superhero-of-the-moment thing off the rack at Kmart.

That said, remember breathing thru those plastic masks that got your face all wet after about 3 minutes?

^ the worst ones also had those tiny rectangular eye slits right above the eyes on the mask...my brother literally got poked in the eye because of one of those. (it was a Creature from the Black Lagoon mask)

I still see Gumby toys for sale randomly though so I dunno what's up with that?

the feeling of running one is even better!

^I'm sure that's true but I'll never experience it ... but honestly I have no desire to run a marathon just to finish. kudos to those that do it in times over 4 hrs but I wouldn't find that fulfilling and I wouldn't (and at this stage of my life couldn't) put in the training necessary to finish in 3 1/2.
