Yes it's an interesting building, to know more about it i recommend the monograph published by Actar, from design process to the completition of the building, a comprehensive document of the OMA's work.

You're right, of course. MVRDV did the VPRO offices, Neutelings Riedijk the archives. Somehow I got that image mixed up between the two.

Sorry about that! I hate spreading disinformation (almost as much as I hate being wrong). :(

        St. Mary's Cathedral, Tokyo.
Places of worship seem to be more frequently epic than other building types.

I've made a qualitative structural analysis of that pointy roof. It's very interestingly constructed. The attachment to the rest of the building is a joint axis, preventing the concrete from cracking. Also, it gets thinner towards the outer edge, placing the center of gravity above the pillars, some of which are tilted to prevent horizontal movement. And so forth.

Zaha Hadid designed this by the way. It resembles her train station in Strasbourg:

Zaha Hadid does some amazing work.

One of my favorites is the Guggenheim Bilbao by Gehry

For classic residential architecture, I love John Lautner.

The Goldstein house is one of my favorites

Wow, thanks for posting pictures of that last church - it's really gorgeous.

Also, lulz at Dubai not being able to pay its debts.

Wow, the way the light moves across the ceiling and through the room is just stunning.

Churches always have the most amazing architecture. I guess it's habit.
