I started watching Fate/Zero because it's rated so highly...and I've found it to be extremely average. I felt exactly the same about Blue Lagoon.
I wanna go on a tirade but I really don't.
I find it the worst when certain animes are almost exactly the same as another but ever so slightly different. e.g. Trigun > Trinity Blood and Chobits - Elfen Lied.
Apparently Del Toro is supposed to make an HBO adaptation of Monster.

it's pretty damn good
the end felt rushed, you could tell that it was meant to be 12 episodes but they had to make it 11
still, a very good critique on the current japanese political climateOriginally posted by unwashedTry to use a phone camera in broad daylight or use a proper camera.Originally posted by AhimsaI've found it extremely pleasant and enthralling over repeated whiffs so I would highly recommend.

Anyone have any recommendations movie wise? Preferably something not affiliated with an anime series. Also, what's the deal with Soul Eater? Is that never going to continue with the original characters?Originally posted by FaustHOBBY?! HOBBY?!?!?!?!?! Ninja Scroll
Sword of the Stranger
Ghost in the Shell
Blood: The Last Vampire
Tokyo Godfathers
Tekkonkinkreet
Millennium Actress
Memories
Grave of the Fireflies (Ghibli, but not Miyazaki)
From the same manga creator of Tekkonkinkreet is the 12 episode series Ping-Pong the Animation, which is by far the best anime series I have seen in a loooong time.

How do people feel about the new 'Ghost in the Shell: Arise' series that is available on Netflix?
I watched the whole thing in one binge session. I was trying to find out online if they were going to make a season 2 but it doesn't appear they are.
I think it's really good. It feels almost like a prequel to the original GitS film. The animation is incredible and the music is really good, like borderline minimal techno good.
