I don't know enough about camera processing to understand why a monochrome-only body is necessary. Apparently, from what I read, it captures more detail.??

      Smart looking camera tho.

its made for old school monochrome leica fans !
Its really a good camera. but for me M9 is way better. Also if you want to make a monochrome you can easily make it with M9.

i think the monochrome leica is quite gimmicky, and IMO, a monochrome camera at that price is quite absurd!

Right! It has the early M3 (my fav) design. From what I gather they're trying to market the camera primarily to the b/w purist shooters. I belong to that school only on my Leica though (shoot color on my Hassy). Still at that price tag there's no way... atleast not yet

I know Steve Huff is a huge fan of Leica. You can read his reviews here

I can't read his articles...he basically fawns over everything. When he doesn't love something, he says "it's awesome and super and basically perfect...but lacks that Leica-look".

                *sigh*

                I hate happy people.

So I bought this micro four thirds camera a few weeks ago. I understand this system isn't for everyone...the sensor is obviously smaller, so you lose some depth of field, etc., but this camera is very interesting. The stabilization system is incredible...you can basically take sharp(er) pictures are ridiculously low shutter speeds, which is nice for novices like me.

Being a mirrorless camera, the viewfinder is obviously electronic, which for some takes some getting used to, but is a pleasure to use. There's a sensor that switches the viewfinder on when you life it to your eye.

Body is magnesium...weather-sealed...obviously "retro"-style (whatever)...the lens selection is quite impressive, albeit young. Most impressive though is the size...tiny camera...tiny lenses.

Thanks. Yes, brand new "flagship" model. The first micro four thirds camera to really compete with the DSLR's.

                                have a Fuji X100

Only can afford that since it's like a poor man's Leica
