My contribution is more of a satirical one since this is an accessory that comes with jeans from Altamont (a skateboard clothing line). I had a friend who worked there and ended up with about 12 of these things sitting around. It came attached to a loop sewn into the denim and I left this one on as a joke one night and someone took a photo.
Chain: check
safety pin: check
dagger pendant: check
real blackbird feather: check
suggested retail price for the jeans and the dangle accessory: $65
Serious flair.Originally posted by mizzarSorry for being kind of a dick to you.

BTW, if anyone needs nice pins for their cardigans, like the ones Yohji uses, they can be had in any button/trimmings store. 2 pins for $3 at M&J trimmings, for example.Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde

That MJ thing is appalling, it's some kind of hot topic version of punk or something. Barf. It's also way too shiny
I have yet to see a designer safety pin that isn't gross. This trend is full of stuff that is either monstrous or banal, and I am a big lover & user of safety pins

I wear black kilt pins rather often as brooches. They are pretty cheap to pick up and are unusual looking enough that it doesn't look like you are wearing a normal safety pin. Although that being said I remember McQ had a coloured safety pin that looked rather nice."Lots of people who think they are into fashion are actually just into shopping"

These seem quite nicely large at 3.9", also available in some nifty colors. Don't know how I feel about the branding, though: http://www.yoox.com/item/YOOX/RAF+SI...s/sr_salemen80
