i thought so. i have not seen them here yet, but that would be a great thing. i dont drink that much beer, so i usually cant finish a whole one on my own before it gets too warm.

Been a while since I listened to John Darnielle, but he's coming to DC again soon, so I figured what the hell. There's some real gems buried in his somewhat uneven, rather expansive discography. I'd say Tallahassee is the most coherent work he's put out, definitely a personal favorite.

snap, oren ambarchi played in the states? i saw him in boston and it was fucking amazing.

oren played a fucking incredible set with sunn o))) and boris at avalon a few years back. and when I say with, I literally mean with, as in everyone on stage at one time. this was technically sunn o)))'s set, and pre-altar; so pure, terrifying drone. I not only feared for the structural integrity of the building, but also my own body. you could practically see the sound waves shimmering the air.

EDIT: currently listening to awesome color - awesome color I frequently forget how good this is, but it takes no time at all to remember. there's more to detroit these days than noise.

I've taken this amazing song from a compilation "Kalk Seeds" that a friend of mine gave me....really really interesting does anyone know something about the label "Karaoke Kalk"?

It's a small label based in Köln - been around for about 10 years or so. Mostly melodic and/or minimal electronic music, wth a lot of German artists on the roster (natch). Overall it's a bit twee for my taste, but there's definitely some nice stuff there.
