I think Mastodon gets a little underrated due to their mainstream success (and shitty scene/metal kids liking them). They are headlining this Atlanta Metal festival at the end of February I'm desperate to get to.

The lineup includes Boris (!), Nachtmystium, Wolves in The Throne Room, Krallice, Eyehategod, Torche, Harvey Milk, Zoroaster and a bunch of other awesome stuff. Basically the exact bands I would want to play a metal fest and the funniest thing is it's free and sponsored by Scion cars.

Did you ever check out that Japanese band I accidentally misnamed? They are actually called Sigh and are pretty dope. Apparently Sunn O))) toured with them a while back.

Been on a crazy Far kick today after finding out (3 months later) that they've gotten back together. Goddamn, makes me want to break out my Far t-shirt from something like 10 years ago when I saw them in Jacksonville.

It may be a big deviation from the other esoteric bands people listen to on here but Far has been one of my favorite groups ever. Brings me right back to high school. Perfect.
