Wow, what a coincidence. I just came to this thread to post my recent absolute obsession over Antony and the Johnson's "The Crying Light" but you beat me to it Kunk. I've liked him since his first album, but this one shows a new refinement in the arrangements, the Johnson's are really a fabulous backing band. And from a compositional perspective the songs are really really good, he's doing something more along the lines of a romantic "art songs" than pop.
I had been putting off buying this album, but after seeing him in concert last week I had to get it. He was completely amazing in concert, his voice was even better live (unlike most "singers") and the band was perfection. One of the most moving concerts I have attended.

right now, deepchord presents intrusion - the seduction of silence. not quite as good as "the coldest season" - but it'll do just fine.
man, i'm such a sucker for the deepchord/echospace stuff. sure, it sounds *exactly* like basic channel/chain reaction, even down to the multple/nebulous names of their records...but i love chain reaction, so i don't mind.
don't mind blowing the whistle on this, as i wouldn't put it in a podcast anytime soon...but boy does it get me going.
that, and disrupt. as in the digi-dub disrupt, tho the dbeat crusts disrupt are aces too.
