It's true about Patti - she's so special and every album has it's own soul. I would actually say that most of her songs stand on their own, too; that's a good point.

A long time ago I had a bootleg copy of her live on WBAI in maybe 1975?? I believe that it was only Patti, Lenny and Ivan; Jay Dee Daugherty wasn't on these sessions. It was live in front of a small studio audience. Have you ever heard that? It's really amazing. I've been seeking it out for a download but haven't found it as of yet. I'm sure that if I really dug I'd find it somewhere. I have a few other good bootlegs of hers but that was always my favorite... I can't believe that I lost it before I could back it up in iTunes.

I found that record once and gave it to my girlfriend (don't care much for patti), her fans make it out to be really rare when it actually isn't. They usually want in the 150s.

Oh wow - cool! I forgot that was the name of the bootleg. I know it can't be that rare becuase I remember it being popular amongst fans. That's actaully a good deal if the bidding doesn't go too high. Thanks for the link!

sunny murray - suny murray quintet (esp-disk, 66) - i'm guessing this is a reissue perhaps since someone slipped in an interview track at the beginning that's really nice.

The Antlers - hospice - decent stuff but i just can't imagine ever listening to stuff like this and that other similar band (grizzly bear?)

oren ambarchi - persona-reisue09 - a littel dated to me, it's amazing how much ambarchi has/hasn't changed over the years.

Micachu - bands still trying to find a sound should avoid recording and promoting

jaki byard - ToThemToUs - great pianist but i've already got way too many solo piano albums that i won't ever listen to again.

super furry animals - dark days light years - not sure how i feel about this on first spin. sounds good but listening to new sfa in this day and age just feels odd.
