        what's up with this though - i can't find any tour dates anywhere...i would flip to see them again. they were kind of the kings of dc back when i was in high school. one of my closest friends dated shelby for a while.

        the clips on line are amazing. i just pulled out "we washed our weapons in the sea" today and it's still so good.

        glad yr digging koner - dude is a master...shame that he's sort of dropped off the map in recent years.

          on semi-infinite repeat past few days:
          scala & kolacny bros' heartbeats cover
          littles ones vs crytsal castles - lovers who uncover

          saw bloc party live last week and was shocked by kumbaya-rave awesomeness. missed junior boys due to other commitments.

          lots of awesome upcoming shows here in chi (finally!)

            I think the main thing that had people going off about Blank Dogs especially was the whole 'mystery' around who it was / what it is or whatever. Maybe someone here knows for certain but it reminds me a lot of Burial's release recently as well - seemingly decent music hyped because of vague origins which seemed to speak to some desire for 'authenticity.' I'm not convinced.

            Great post, Merz. Always appreciate something new to look into!

              I certainly didn't mean to pass judgement on Blank Dogs whatsoever - I was more casting aspersion on the websites blogs and listeners that get caught up in the 'hype' for those sort of things.

              I suppose I probably shouldn't - sometimes half (or more) the fun is imagery, mystery and mythos.

                  I feel dumb for not even knowing Blank Dogs. Oh well. Are they like a TMU hype type act??? *EDIT* ha, just looked it up I was right in my suspicions! Will check out.

                  Saw in the past few days live;

                  Tecumseh - A wonderful short set of drone metal. Going places others haven't yet. Off kilter guitar interplay, new and more forceful noise.

                  Preyer - Ryan of Sixes and another fellow I don't know, very ominous back loop/drone with electronic improv over the top. EVIL EVIL EVIL. Quite well done.

                  Aids Wolf - Girl was acting really weird, very very noisy as I expected it would be. Fun enough.

                  I missed Boher and Acid Mothers Temple this week though..... more shows soon anyways.

                  Right now listening to Cap'n Jazz, Discordance Axis, and Lngtche (noise not shitty whatever band floating around).
