i loved pan sonic first time around in late 90s, hated more recently but figured it was me changing (friends liked it). Not the same genre but saw mouse on mars in late 90s do a laptop set that fulfilled the sonic+physical component. i got a bunch of funding in college to create an msp patch to sound, light, video and be dynamic with people/audience's actions/movements...i failed.

But in terms of jazz, not really n the classical sense but have a jazz influence, try these out
mostly mix albums by various artists
Bossa Dub & Jazz, St Germain(various albums all rather good).
Also for a more chilled vibe try Vanessa Dau (she is filthy!)
and also any compilation albums by the dj Giles Peterson (the worldwide series 1-3 are great)
As well as Nithin Sawnheymerz: your look has all the grace of george michael at the tail end of a coke binge.

Joey - Yeah, I saw Pan Sonic on their last tour, and they were a pale shadow of their former selves. I was bummed as they hadn't played here in 6-7 years. Such a let down. Still - their records are consistently brilliant. I loved that 4 cd box set - as well as their last one.
re: mouse on mars - I saw them back when they were just two guys and a table full of fucked electronics and it was fucking awesome. They were like the happy, not serious version of Pan Sonic. They were jumping around while twisting knobs...it was great. They were so happy, you couldn't help but join in and dance with them. It was a tour w/ Stereolab and they had the whole crowd moving... Then they went and got a drummer and started adding live instruments - and it wasn't nearly as good.
And yeah - I'll be at heathers tonight - rolling deep with a big crew. Nice, cus I live a block away.

i saw mouse on mars as well a few years ago. they played a great set from what i remember. it was't with the live instruments just their laptops. one laptop set that i thought was phenomenal was by that group plaid. they had this cool visual set up as well which made up for their knob twiddling.Did you get and like the larger dick?
