Listening to Undertow by Tool right now.. it's the only band that makes sense to me right now (and for the past years).
I recently revisited simpler times with Melon collie and the infinite sadness by Smashing Pumpkins, I had totally forgot how awesome SP is up to Ava Adore.

Check out Witch, Black mountains is nice too, but not in the same style (more "modern", imo).

Some good electro, because it's well known that, us, frenchies, are only good in electro (so they say...):

Thieves like us, Poni Hoax.

And rock bands i recommend :

Louis XIV, Howling bells (more quiet), White denim, Giant drag, deUs.

I'd like to introduce you to some bands i discovered over myspace, which is, as you might know, a extraordinary crossroad of all kind of music. To complete my last post, sort of.

It's kinda a post-electro/rock band, reminds me of Holyfuck or Foals, but less progressive.
