Space'n'Bass. The Ultimate Ambient Collection. It's not ultimate, but it's okay.

I know. I'm a little embarrassed by my love of early slumberland, but goddamn did that anniversary news pull my heartstrings. Truer words never said re: Twee. But yeah, the ladies did seem to dig that stuff in the 90's.

re: Jesus Lizard - I had to hand my julius trench off to my friends so that I could get in the pit. Still after a leather...but that's for another forum. But yeah, it was one of the most exhilarating, life affirming shows i've been to in a while. It was the perfect send off for Iceland, which was also completely exhilarating and life affirming. Best review I've seen of the shows basically said something along the lines of "how in the past 10 years has there not been a single front man who can compare to David Yow", and it's fucking true.

          kollaps - here's my electrical

it fucking slays - i used to play a travis bean and a kramer - and it was like going from a honda to a porche. As some men are towards cars - I am towards guitars and basses.

also - for those that care "until the light takes us" is total crap.

even though things were a bit tame out here compared to your & several other people's accounts of the vice show, my julius leather still smells like cheap beer i was showered with @ Jezuslizard.

Haha. Anyway, I'd feel remiss not mentioning Davy/Davey Graham as part of the pantheon of god-like finger-pickers with a craving for Eastern scales. Definitely one of the classic pioneers. He's on the other side of the pond from Fahey/Bull/Basho and went on to influence an entire generation of great British folk guitarists and singer-songwriters alike. You name it - John Renbourn, Bert Jensch, John Martyn, Roy Harper, Richard Thompson, and even a certain Jimmy Page will sing the praises of Graham 'till the cows come home. Awesome stuff if you've yet to know him.

Here's another fella with nifty fingers,

I'm re-listening isn't it anything from My bloody valentine, which is imo as good as Loveless. I heard they continued doing the holocaust live (wave of sound during the show, 15 mn at 130 db).

i missed them last year, so stupid.

Slowdive better than MBV? No way. Slowdive are great but nowhere near MBV and the influence MBV had on music. For example on Slowdive.

I couldn't decide between Loveless and Isn't Anything. I am glad I don't have to. Seeing MBV at Eindhoven this year was mind-(and ear-)blowing.

I'm gonna stay out of this MBV vs Slowdive thing. Besides, I dig Swervedriver more than both anyways. ;) But here's an odd thing - I think MBV and Slowdive are better bands than Swervedriver, I just don't listen to them nearly as often.

Q: Jaks! I have video footage of them I've been meaning to digitize for years. I gotta figure that out one of these days. You ever catch em live? Really makes me miss those early lovelife shows.

lovelife doesn't hold up at all - but joey, you know not of which you speak...

                                bailey at his finest.

dusted this off and gave it a good spin or two.
tanaka sounds beautiful as well whatever little of his subtle
gesticulations and shifts in movement were caught on record.
