Wait, what?
Q, You're comparing the beastie boys to swans, the fall and live skull? You've totally, completely lost me here. I mean, until you mentioned the Fall, I sort of got it, with NYC being the common denominator, but I dunno, Go for this - I wanna see where you end up.
Also - moderators? I dunno, can there be some kind of rule instated where members with under 100 posts don't just come in here, mention some crap band and then take off? Heck, can members with more than 100 posts stop doing that as well? I mean, you guys police the hell out of the rest of the site. Some of us are actually trying to have a conversation here.
Or maybe Joey, Q, he-who-must-not be named, quincy, kollaps, klang and I need to just go have a black metal cluster fuck somewhere more private.
Originally posted by merzhey, they seemed to have some interesting moments! i've this..weird live thing with them & swans, live skull, the fall, etc.. (kind of a trainwreck, but still)

I'm feeling mean. Anyone feel like naming a few bands who were just completely 3rd and 4th tier? Bands who were influenced by bands who were influenced by bands? You know, any band from Chicago in the mid 90's that wasn't on Touch and Go?
And conversely, maybe some of y'all can come up with some real unsung heroes at the same time - bands that should have gotten more attention but didn't.
He-who-must-not-be-named and Joey - I know, just KNOW you are going to excel at this.
Begin!

Any of you freaks (merz, hamlet?) want to write about music for a magazine?Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde

Yeah, I could be interested - I'm just very strapped for time right now - several huge deadlines ahead. And I take offense at the term freak - it's "weirdo", please.
Nice posts, Q, Klang. It really sucks that Rowland didn't get his fair shake in life, re: the world recognizing his genius.
Doldrums: No, i was going through some 7"s and found records by bands like Taylor Brand Abrasive Sound Structure, Chisel Drill Hammer, Dianogah, that kind of stuff. I didn't want to be mean, but there I go.
