MaxM, if I may just briefly interject, I find your avatar photo bears a startling resemblence to the cherished candy sucker that takes after one of my dearest friends. Hmm... Ok, carry on.

Interest1!
You might be right. Techno started as a masked, anonymous possibility of an underground movement centered solely around the music. Many ravers dream back to the late 80's, early 90's: this techno idiom was perverted in self-driven personalization cults like Richie Hawtin's (Plastikman), Richard D. James's (Aphex Twin), also Alexander Wilke-Steinhof's (Alec Empire).
Empire is the least talented of the above, I'm neither a fan of his work. But I happen to be an electrohead in wanting for a passage to the track (Top End Killer) you linked. I have such a hard time with lyrics. I prefer shouts, like these.

Yesterday I heard Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit live. It was a really nice and humble concert: exact sounds, excellent coordination, between the two and between organic and electronic instruments. You can listen to some of their work on Spotify.
