dunno, I'm not actually that into post-rock, there's just some stuff that I like.
Mono is quite decent live, but I've never listened to any album of theirs
Floatation Toy Warning is fun, but the singer's voice gets on some people's nerves. also, some of their songs are almost pop

Heh, Killdozer... one of Madison's few beacons through the ages in a sea of jam band flatus and sham 'Americana' worship (Jesus, Wilco just came thru for the billionth time and the fukkin CITY COUNCIL started making honorary this-n'-thats and I... am... palpitating... where mah Swans rekkids at...?)... ahem, yes, thankew for reminding me a Killdozer, a flicker of candlight through the eyesocket of a skull crushed up a bit about the crown...

(seriously tho', been rotating Swans' Cop/Greed/Holy Money and the 2 Skin elpees a good deal of late... helps me "deal" w/ Feb, I guess... also been enjoying Ut - In Guts House a fair amount)

Sadly no - the album is very coherent and clean, doesn't have the sense of danger and noise that the live show promised. Still, they're one of the best bands I've seen in a while.

yea those ladies had their moments. will put on early live life lp now...

& j - do their recordings sound anything like that? because fuck, i want to hear more of this now.

They're based in NYC actually - I wouldn't be surprised if they tour a bit. I'd describe their album has suffering from the same problem of HTRK's full length when compared to their live show/nostalgia.

Yeah, I don't think HTRK have any plans to come out here in the near future, sadly.

shame. maybe there'll be quality live recordings around. & these people play shows stateside? i've gotten a bit frustrated with htrk's lack of apparent interest in coming out here, but what do i know..

you should check out this band from seattle called this is a process of a still life, as well as explosions in the sky, the sound track for last life in the universe and i'll echoe galia in saying mono, they're pretty good.
