Damn, these guys are like, probably the worst french "rock" band ever, after les BB brunes and Téléphone.
Listen to some Noir désir, it's a good beginning for a cure.
Agree on the shite that is Indochine. Their new shit sounds like indie schmindie MOR rock for the Pitchfork generation. Not so sure about Noir désir though. IMO, this is the only French band of recent note that truly rocks.
As of late I have been drifting more and more into reggae and right now I'm hearing this. This far I am very impressed with the variety and the somewhat new takes on the classical roots reggae sound. Perfect comes correct on a lot of tracks.
^ have been listening to reggae for a long time, too.
Some recommendations (might be older, some time has passed since then):
Sizzla - Da Real Thing (his absolutely best!)
Fantan Mojah - Hail The King
... can add some more per request but I don't like spaming with musical suggestions for one cannot listen to all of them in depth anyway. Rather few and well selected..
edit... currently listening to Regina Spektor. Dunno if that meets the SZ musical preferences. I like her voice and in general I am very biased towards music with piano... Plus, the song 'Samson' means a lot to me personally, but that's another story.
Portishead - Portishead
These New Puritans - Beat Pyramid
Two Door Cinema Club - Tourist History
Phoenix - It's Never Been Like That
Nosaj Thing - Drift
Passion Pit - Manners
