Yes, they really blazed some trails back in the day..
early Dettinger, early MMayer, early Jurgen Paape, early Reinhard and his brother..Intershop, Blonde: Genius!
Any of the German Acid House classics.
Remember the Kreisel series?! Very foundational music.
And I really hold a torch for them..
But they are something completely different in some ways now.
They are still smart, aesthetically tight, even creative, but they seem more aimed at a general, 'bigger' picture. They have much less of an impassioned, focused underground feel now.
Fine, just not my taste.
Actually, not entirely unlike Raf Simons.
