Gem Club - Acid and Everything (EP)
... cello and piano. Actually this reminds me of Soap&Skin but without the electronical influence. Both recommended.

Besides, listening to the new Sufjan Stevens, Interpol and some Watergate Sets (dOP as of late).

after a day listening to the durutti column's amigos em portugal, and circuses and bread lp's went out to see terry riley playing berlin - on occasion of his 75th birthday. given that it is not exactly the greatest music on the planet it's still fun to see people having fun whilst doing what they are doing.

Same here. Saw Growing in 2008 but haven't really listened to them since until last week. Good stuff.

Been listening a lot to DOOM and his aliases recently as well:

Listening to the very beautiful and often dark Sadly, the future is no longer what it was trilogy by Leyland Kirby.

I would consider this a must hear unless you only like popular music.

^ I'll check it out, thanks man.

I've been listening to this again, after a couple years of neglect, as I just spent a ludicrous amount on scalped tickets for a show next year.

That should be a great show. I've seen them twice and it's always been worth the price of admission. I hope I get to see them on that tour as well.

good to see there is quite a bit of diversity aound here. i think that happens as taste evolves and matures. you don't get pegged into any particular genre but are able to recognize quality in all forms of music.

anyway today i'm listening to iron & wine. i freakin love this guy. the tone of his voice and the simple earthy realness vibe i get from him. i also love his lyrical content. here is a snip from belated promise ring:

i once gave to my Rebekah a belated promise ring

and she sold it to the waitress on a train

i may find her by the phone booth with a fashion magazine

she may kiss me when her girlfriends leave again

they say time may give you more then your poor bones could ever take

i think i could never love another girl

to be free atop a tree stump and to look the other way

while she shines my mothers imitation pearls

                                listen here

i did attend a show once with my wife and she straight up fell asleep. true. it was funny...
dying and coming back gives you considerable perspective
