Does anyone have recommendations on artists similar to Murcof ? Haven't found much but i really love this minimal/experimental/classical genre
I'd suggest these:
Vladislav Delay
Thomas Jirku
Fennesz
Tim Hecker
Triosk
Mountains
Francisco López
GAS
Elegi
Thomas Köner
Kreng
The Gentleman Losers
William Basinski
Susumu Yokota
Jóhann Jóhannsson
Sutekh
Colleen
Mitchell Akiyama
Jan Jelinek
The Dead Texan
Senking
Rob Ellis
Phonophani
Tape
Jasper TX
Bernhard Günter
Stephan Mathieu
Ólafur Arnalds
Shinjuku Thief
Not every release by each of these artists will fall into those categories but I think they all have put out things that you will appreciate if you like Murcof. You just might have to dig a little. In other words, listen to a least a couple tracks from different albums (if possible) before you make your decision.
THE HOUSE OF DIS embrace the twenty first movement
Been browsing a bit and found this worth adding/posting : (Marsen Jules- Während)
But Dis, those artists seem to be more on soundscapes/ambient rather than that sort of "orchestral electronica" no? (bad at explaining genres and all...)

Well, it's hard to know what you like about this from one song. Is it mainly lush, bleepy minimal techno you're after? Also, do you like other Murcof records like "Cosmos" as well? I prefer that one myself, but maybe you don't as it's way moodier, more soundtrack-y and less 'bleepy' than this, his first album.. You should browse the Leaf label catalog too, as it's pretty consistent. (Particularly Susumu Yokota and Colleen)
You should try:
Pantha Du Prince either "Diamond Daze" or "This Bliss"
Carsten Jost "You Don't Need a Weatherman.."
Lawrence ''s/t", "Lowlights from the Past and Future" or "Until Then Goodbye''.
Also:
Moritz Von Oswald and Carl Craig: ReComposed (both producers given free reign with Deutsche Gramophone back-catalogue)
Dis has many good suggestions for you in his list actually:
Gas is ultra-organic,Wagnerian ambient techno, esp. "Zaubergerg" and "Konigsforst". Beautiful really.
William Basinski is just heart rending and gorgeous. Beatless, but immense.
Jan Jelinek has done sooo much. You would probably like "Kosmicher Pitch" and "Triosk meets Jan Jelinek" best.
Marsen Jules track above reminds me of Klimek. Also make sure to check out Fennesz, but avoid the collaborations esp. with David Sylvian-Doesn't seem like you want vocals...Get Field Recordings or Endless Summer. You'd also love Noto/Sakamoto (collab with Alva Noto and YMO's Ryuichi Sakamoto)
