A fantastic piece from an all over the place cat: Morton Feldman
Feldman- Patterns in a Chromatic Field (1/8) - 1-8 are on youtube.
For Piano and Cello - an extraordinary opening.
Albert Ayler: Wizards from "spiritual unity".
I get to all feelin' funny in the pit of my stomach listening to this nearly feral, ecstatic improvisation. Man.
I think of Chicago fondly
Art Ensemble of Chicago - "Theme de Yoyo" (this is my preferred recording.)
From the extraordinary Smithsonian Anthology of Folk Music:
Clarence Ashley
Looking over this list in retrospect, it seems to have inadvertently covered the geographical reference points of my life perfectly.
Deutche Amerikaniche Freundschaft "Tanz den Mussolini"
An epic performance -- better than the original recording, i think.

genevieveryoko,
The classic Throbbing Gristle album. Drew Daniel (Matmos/English Professor) has written one of the best of the 33 1/3 series on this album.
I saw TB perform last year. They played with one of the less exhausting Kenneth Anger films projected simultaneously behind them.
In that vein-ish, I can't help but add one more:
HOLGER CZUKAY/U-SHE/LUC PILMEYER - excerpt from "La Luna." It's absolutely worth getting a copy of the entire piece (runs 47'17" long.)

An excellent Harry Smith piece. Warning: hour long.
But do not miss some of the pieces from the Fluxus Anthology:
In particular: Milan Knizak, "Broken Music Composition," 1979, (3:26) . Really. Preposterously wonderful.
