i didn't hear boxer until i finally broke down a month ago and listened to it. it's a good record but i avoided it sincei could still remember everyone hyping their first albumwhen theysounded like a generic paint by numbers indie band.</P>

word. i believe i saw the national in 2004 at a bar in brookland for their record release party. bored / dulled to tears. i was standing two feet in front of the band. whenever i stand that close to a band i usually erupt into emo seizures. not this band. was floored when i heard recently they sold out 5 straight nights at bowery ballroom. keep at it kids! dont get discouraged! the crap you produce will one day turn gold. </p>

damn homie, we should trade records or something. faust is awesome. the faust/dalek (nj hip hop group) collab is pretty interesting too.</p>

edit: regarding the national, after listening to their newer record, they're definitely a band that you need to sit down and watch. i could definitely be bored out of my mind if i were to stand in front the whole time. </p>

Figured I'd start posting here more, this is an easy enuff thread to inspire the likes of me... currently revisiting Japanese folk singer Kan Mikami (Hoi 1973-1992 at the moment). Way ruff and the vocals have a quality that makes it utterly irrelevant that I know not a lick of what he's saying. I know there's some other PSF heads on here... at least someone w/ the username "Keiji Haino"...

Keiji Haino play New York last summer at the No Fun Fest in NYC. They should announce the line up for No Fun 2008 any day now. I vowed to never return but they're at a new venue this year so maybe I'll give it another shot.</p>
