Hang on here now, I just saw Eleh were mentioned more than once on the last page. I didn't expect that. This forum keeps on getting more and more interesting.

                        morning wake up music

modern Clapton may not be God like but back in da day he was heavenly. I understand the "over rated" comments from people who've never listened to this stuff. Early Clapton was fierce, powerful and raw. Modern Clapton is too refined and sweet. Changing to a Strat from his Gibson certainly was a major reason for the shift. Of course Bruce & Baker didn't hurt.

I'm a big fan of wife swapping shredding coked out Clapton (Derrick and the Dominos) era and before. Nice endorphinz. Here's to add to that...

^my fav side of that album is apple jam

I've seen Clapton live in so many incarnations Cream,Blind Faith, Derek, Delaney & Bonnie, with Harrison @ the concert for Bangladesh, with Paige & Beck @ the Ronnie Lane ARMS benefit...I believe the last time I saw him was with Robert Cray; it just wasn't the same

the running joke during the Blind Faith tour was that they weighed Ginger before every concert He literally looked like death incarnate.... but he could BANG

the above and the studio version of Think I'll Go Back Home on the Stephen Stills solo album (don't see it on the tube )are among my fav Clapton solos... of the " clean"variety.

i actually didn't watch the delaney & bonnie vid when i posted it. i just did and sadly, while still good, it just doesn't hold up as well as i thought. I uploaded the Stephen Stills track. I believe it holds up better. it's amazing how much clapton's tone & attack had already changed in a mere few years. i much prefer "dirty" clapton. btw, hendrix also makes an appearance on this album
